Gopal screamed and ran abruptly as the broken bulb fades out behind him, his heart pounding rapidly as he approached the light. He saw his mom standing in the warm kitchen light and hugged her. He started calming down as she ruffled his hair and gave him a special ring which would glow in the dark and show him the way. -
The fear of the dark had been long gone from Gopal's life when his friend Shyam dared him to fetch a souvenier from a broken down bungalow. -
Shyam was a very notorious and clever kid who knew that Gopal's will would fail in the dark and he made sure of it by replacing Gopal's ring with a fake one. -
Gopal felt confident going inside the bungalow and brought out a small old vase as a souvenier. As he emerged, Gopal saw the ring and realised this was not his old ring and confronted Shyam. -
The incident made Gopal free of his reliance upon the ring as he realised the confidence he could garner by believing in himself.
