On the 29th of October 1931, Mahatma Gandhi went to the Royal Agricultural Hall to attent the dairy show that took place there. The goats that were exhibited there particularly held his attention. Mahatma and Miss Slade (a disciple of Gandhi who was the daughter of an English admiral), in the centre, are seen observing the champion goats at the dairy show.
